For the second year responders Jon Padovani and Carl Fraser, local Police CSO Dan Bevan and Will Barden (who is part of the South East Coast ambulance service, SECAmb) will be running in the Hastings Half Marathon to raise funds for local charity, the Rother Responders.

The Responders are a team of volunteers who respond to most (but not all) 999 calls alongside SECAmb – but often arrive first, because they are local people – and the funds raised will again go towards purchasing life-saving equipment, including providing Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) in the local area. For more information, visit rothercfr.co.uk.

Jon said they would love for people to sponsor them in order to help them to continue funding life-saving equipment. You can find out more at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/RotherRespondersHH2016

If you are visiting the Hastings Half this year, come and say “Hello”. The Responders will have a pop-up shelter in the Charity Area during the event (which starts and ends on the sea front) and of course you can give them a real boost by cheering them along their route this Sunday March 20.
