Last Sunday (January 11), the Rye Harbour Sailing Club rum race, for dinghies, was held on the river Rother, writes Ray Prewer. As this was a very windy day, the course was from the yacht club to Rock Channel and back. The weather conditions meant that the crafts had to tack on the first leg and had a well set wind on the return leg. Eleven dinghies started but one failed to finish. The first three on corrected time were: 1st Scott Willkinson in Scott Nothing to do with You (Topper), 2nd Lucy Thomas in Whippa Snappa (Laser Vago XD) and 3rd Eric Zon in Club Laser (Laser).
