On Friday June 5 members and friends of the Rye Tennis Club enjoyed a golf day to raise money for the Rye and District Day Centre, writes Holly Lindsay-Cawdron. Held at The London Beach Hotel Spa & Country Club in Tenterden, an early threat of lightning caused some concern, but as this dissipated, the golf was able to begin. The level of expertise varied considerably with some low-handicap players demonstrating a variety of fine shots as they went round while others showed somewhat less expertise. This didn’t matter however, and a great day was had by all.
In total £900 was raised for the charity which supports the elderly In Rye. On behalf of the charity we would like to thank all those who took part in the event and all those who helped organise it. We would also like to say a huge thank you to London Beach for the generosity and hospitality shown. All the money paid to London Beach is being donated to the charity.
