Stay in, work out

Many of us are still able to take advantage of our daily exercise allowance by getting out and about once a day to keep our fitness levels in check but for those who have to self isolate this is not an option. However there is a viable solution.

Active Rother, is currently working with local sport and physical activity providers to promote options for exercise at home now that many are forced to self isolate but miss the opportunity to keep fit. There are some great examples on their Active Rother Twitter @ActiveRother and Facebook @ActiveRother pages.

The Active Rother programme works with local partners to develop and promote opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity. Now that social distancing is in place, partners are finding creative ways to encourage their own regular attendees and other residents to stay active at home.

Active Rother is posting information and video links on social media and its work supports the national campaign led by Sport England,  which is focused on a Join The Movement message designed to provide inspiration and trusted information to the public about how to get active in and around the home during the coronavirus pandemic.

This is a really well thought out and very user friendly presentation with plenty of ideas to think about, now that many of us have the luxury of time on our hands, what better way to spend it than trying new ways to keep fit. Working out from home may be something new to you but surely it’s worth a go and, there’s a good chance you might actually enjoy it!
