Martin Ledner & The Haunted Men

Martin Ledner & The Haunted Men are a collective of as many as five musicians who play original ‘Folk songs’ in the English tradition. Martin’s songs range from raucous sea shanties to atmospheric ballads and while the lyrics are distinctly ‘old style’ lyric-wise, the instrumentation is contemporary. Drawing upon local myths and legends, the repertoire includes an epic ode to the Romney Marsh and the story of the Rye Lifeboat tragedy of 1928.

The songs might hark back to the past, but with themes of love, death, sex, murder and longing they are as relevant as ever to modern life.

The latest album ‘Lives, Labours, Loves’ features heavily in the set.
