Rother clean up continues

Following on from the previous amazing clean ups, if anyone is around Rye and has time to help clear up the rubbish along banks of the River Rother on Sunday morning February 11, there will be a group meeting at 10am at the North Point pumping station. This is a 15-minute walk from Monk Bretton bridge (the A259 going out of Rye towards Camber/Brookland). A Google map, here, shows  the meeting point.
Litter picking equipment and some gloves will be available but please bring gloves if you have them. And do wear appropriate clothing for whatever cold, wet, maybe sunny weather conditions might prevail.

Warning

The area may have mud holes, is not flat and may be slippery so we need to be careful.
Rubbish may include flares, syringes, broken glass, dog faeces and more. Much of this may not be immediately visible having been enveloped by the vegetation.
On a positive note, beach and estuary clean ups can be healthy and are very sociable!
