Many local voluntary organisations are in need of volunteers with a range of different skills.  If you have some time to spare, the following organisations would be pleased to hear from you.

Lamb House Room Guides (National Trust)

Lamb House is looking for friendly and enthusiastic room guides of all ages and backgrounds! The house and garden are open Fridays through to Tuesdays between March and October, with additional opening for Christmas events. You don’t need to be an expert on the history of Lamb House and Rye, just willing to learn and welcome new people every day. Contact us via lambhouse@nationaltrust.org.uk or pop in to find out more.

Rye News Team: Events Co-ordinator

With more events coming up over the summer months Rye News is looking for someone to join our team to manage the What’s On page.  Ideally, we need someone who is actively involved in Rye and is able to post events and approve events submitted by others.  Training will be given.

We would also welcome volunteers to help us produce weekly online news.  We particularly need people with experience in the following areas: journalism, editing, marketing, web development, photography.  Email info@ryenews.org.uk

Rye Arts Festival

Rye Jazz Festival

Although major events have had to be relocated to Bexhilll for Covid/space reasons, Rye Jazz Festival will be bringing back free jazz to our streets over the august Bank Holiday weekend.

We will need marshalls to help on the day.  Anyone with a few hours to spare would be gratefully welcomed.  Email ian@ryejazz.com to sign up.

Rye Hospital and The Hub on Rye Hill

Rye Vaccination Centre at Tilling Green

The Centre is looking for volunteers who can help it work effectively.  There are various voluntary and paid roles: Marshals, Registration and paid Pfizer Vaccinators. The last requires those with some clinical experience. Training and briefing is given for everyone committing to the centre.
