Amazing boats need volunteers
Rye Harbour lifeboat station had open days on July 18 and 19 and showed both Rye and Dungeness lifeboats to the public. A very real demonstration of the Rye boat came on Sunday afternoon when the boat and crew had to attend to two emergencies

Support needed after fire
Supporters are rallying around the St Michael's Hospice (which has a shop in Rye) and the Sara Lee Trust after a fire left two patients dead - and one arrested on suspicion of arson and murder. Hospice staff are caring for patients evacuated to alternative premises.
Row grows on centre demolition
Rye Town Council will again be discussing next Monday the redevelopment of the old school site in Tilling Green as concerns grow in particular about the loss of community centre services. A fairly limited "pre-consultation" by the developer added to concerns raised back in April, which have simply got worse.
Draw forced at Keymer Hassocks

See the lifeboat at work
Rye relief lifeboat performed another rescue on July 11 when a small speedboat ran into trouble. If you want to learn more, the lifeboat station is having an open weekend on July 17 and 18 with events for all the family.
