Auction of Promises

Excitement is building for Rye Bonfire Society’s annual Auction of Promises and the fundraising team have, once again, gone all out to bring in an array of amazing items to go under the hammer.

The auction takes place on Wednesday, July 2 in the Tudor Room at the Mermaid Inn. Viewing of lots is from 6:30pm with the proceedings getting underway at 7pm – under the expert charge of Kevin Wall from Rye Auction Galleries.

The £5 entry charge includes a complimentary glass of wine and the organisers claim they really do have something for everyone! There are even items for your four-legged friends.

Rye and District Bonfire Society is committed to the Sussex tradition of keeping the Rye bonfire burning, but with costs for necessities such as security, road closures and insurance ever increasing, it is becoming more and more of a challenge. The society is incredibly grateful to the local businesses, society members, and locals, who continue to support them through difficult economic times and allow them to light up Rye in the otherwise dreary month of November.
