This week the Sue Ryder charity shop on Rye High Street needs your help. Here’s the shop’s manager Denise Ellis.

We are so lucky to be part of the local community. Our shop is celebrating 36 years on Rye High Street this year, and none of the work we help support would be possible without the very generous support of our donors and and our very dedicated team of volunteers.

New team members are wanted to help us continue to raise money for a very needed and worthwhile hospice and bereavement support charity. There’s an urgent need for people who would like to support us by volunteering in our busy shop at the weekend on either Saturday or Sunday.

We are looking for people who are happy to serve our lovely customers on the till as well as helping to accept donations. You could be pricing new goods or helping with merchandising too.

You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer, you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach. Full training is provided and we can be work around your availability.

You’ll make new friends and become a part of our local community as part of a friendly team. There’s a chance to learn new, transferable skills and enhance your CV. Plus there’s a 50% discount on donated goods within all our shops.

If you’d like to help us out, pop into the shop at 16 High Street, Rye or call us on 01797 222576. You can also get in touch with our volunteer co-ordinator Gemma. Her email  is gemma.rose@sueryder.org
