Operation foodbank in Rye
Rye is preparing to open a foodbank next month to help families and individuals to ride-out a short-term crisis - whether the cause is unemployment, illness or a benefit gap. The service will be a branch of the Bexhill Foodbank which has been making emergency deliveries to the town for some time
There is such a thing as a free lunch
Christmas came early for the luncheon club that meets monthly at Rye Community Centre. Local traders made such generous donations that the turkey meal - with wine - was free. The next lunch is on January 26 - come along and join the club
