Rye Arts Festival Sophie Hannah

Not only is Sophie Hannah an internationally bestselling writer of psychological crime fiction, published in forty-nine languages, she is also a wonderfully entertaining and funny speaker. We are delighted to welcome Sophie to our Festival for the first time.

In 2014, with the blessing of Agatha Christie’s family and estate, Sophie published a new Poirot novel, The Monogram Murders, which was a top five bestseller in more than fifteen countries.

She has since published two more Poirot novels, Closed Casket and The Mystery of Three Quarters, both of which were instant Sunday Times Top Ten bestsellers.

Sophie will entertain us with the story of how she was asked to write the Poirot novels, with a bit of ‘How to Hold a Grudge’ thrown in for good measure!
