Join Europe’s longest-running LGBT+ choir for a fun, vibrant performance of fantastic choral arrangements that will leave you wanting more. Conducted by Murray Hipkin and accompanied by John Flinders, this programme of highlights from their summer concert “Divas Through the Decades” will include numbers made famous by great artistes such as Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Kylie Minogue, Ella Fitzgerald and Diana Ross.

The Pink Singers have grown and blossomed into a group of over 90 singers since first formed on 7th April 1983 for the Lesbian & Gay Pride March in London. Essentially a community choir made up of talented people from a diverse range of sexual orientations, gender identities and backgrounds united by a passion for singing great choral music, The Pink Singers perform two main London concerts each year, numerous smaller concerts and sing with other choirs in the UK and around the world.

FREE WORKSHOP – The Pink Singers will be holding a session at St. Mary’s Church ahead of their evening concert. The choir will be running through some of the songs in their evening programme and also their dance moves. Their message to the Rye public is simply come along and join in between 3pm and 4pm! Children are more than welcome too!

To mark its 30th anniversary in 2013, the choir put together an exhibition reflecting on three decades of LGBT social history in London, told through the lens of choir members past and present. The exhibition was made possible with financial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund. https://www.pinksingers.co.uk/
