Recruiting for refugees

A recent job advert on Rother District Council’s (RDC) website highlights the seriousness of the vulnerable refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict and heading to the United Kingdom.

East Sussex County Council, in partnership with the five districts and boroughs within East Sussex are recruiting.

They are looking for a UK resettlement officer, an individual with the experience, knowledge and expertise to assist with the delivery of the Syrian resettlement programme (SRP) in East Sussex.

The advert goes on to say that this is a unique opportunity to engage with partner services in health, housing, education and social care alongside key community and faith groups to ensure the refugees are effectively supported in our county and that the successful candidate must be a professional with the ability to provide housing related support service, working closely with local stakeholders.

This important full time post carries a salary of up to £28,893 per annum on a one year temporary contract basis.
