Patrick Cox-Smith, a volunteer at ARRCC (Activities, Respite, Rehabilitation Care Centres), has persuaded two of his friends in the music world to join him in producing a CD to raise funds for the charity.

As he frequently plays the organ at St Mary’s Church in Rye, he and Andy Gill (Trumpet) and Doug Edwards (recording engineer) were fortunate enough, by kind permission of Rev Canon David Frost, to record the CD at St Mary’s.

Andy is a well-known local trumpeter, playing in countless ensembles in the area. Working locally as a full-time Civil Service lawyer, Andy prefers to keep music as a (very) time-consuming hobby. He also musically directs shows, most recently in Hastings where he has been (and still is) involved in raising funds for causes including St Michael’s Hospice.

Patrick is the organist at Fairlight Parish Church and deputy organist at St Mary’s Rye. He plays regularly for weddings and other occasion at numerous local churches. Like Andy he has kept music as a hobby and started playing as an early teenager. Now retired from the financial world in London, Patrick is a long-term Volunteer at ARRCC, where he uses his model-making skills for art projects with our members.

The CD contains well-known favourites such as Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary and other items requested by ARRCC members. It will be on sale shortly at the Church and from ARRCC, with the proceeds of the sale going to both organisations.
