Local novelist Sally Aviss makes a welcome return to the Rye Bookshop on Saturday, December 9 as part of the Rye Christmas Festival, where she will be selling signed copies of her books.

If you have not already discovered her historical novels, then you have a treat in store (literally!). There will be four for you to choose from – The Call of Cairnmor, Changing Times, Changing Tides, Where Gloom and Brightness Meet and Message from Captivity. A fifth is due to be published early in the new year.

So, if you are looking for a completely absorbing page-turner as a Christmas present for yourself, your mum and dad, granny or grandpa, aunty and uncle, then these books are perfect for you! Do come along and meet Sally on December 9 between 10am and 3pm at the Rye Bookshop, where she will be glad to answer questions about her books and sign your personal copy of one (or even all four!) of her novels.
