The 2nd team of Icklesham Casuals went out of the Hastings FA Lower Divisions Cup on Saturday after losing 3-2 away to Robertsbridge United II.

Robertsbridge went ahead in only the fourth minute through Jason Marsh and doubled their lead when Dan Goodsell netted after 19 minutes. The Casuals fought back well and reduced the deficit shortly before half-time through a penalty from Adam Knight only to concede again straight from the kick-off when Marsh scored his second of the match.

Michael Watson in the Icklesham goal made two excellent saves early in the second period to keep the side in the game but overall it was the Casuals who looked the better side in the second half. They pulled a goal back with around 15 minutes to go when Blue Willoughby scored following Jon Fitton’s free-kick and then had chances to equalise but once again struggled in front of goal.

The 1st team’s match at Sandhurst in the Hastings FA Junior Cup was called off as Sandhurst pitch was deemed unfit for play.
