When old Winchelsea got washed away a new Winchelsea was needed and, as in many towns, people meant pubs and the newest pub was called the New Inn (though actually it's very old, but not as old as it could be as it was rebuilt nearly 300 years ago). Midsummer festival lights up

Northiam Bonfire Society will be lighting up the sky over the weekend of June 20/21 with a Midsummer Festival. Saturday includes a dog show in the day and a BBQ and music in the evening and Sunday will host a Boot Fair with refreshments. There will be a beer festival in 'The Highwayman's Inn' both days.
