With the 54th annual Rye Arts Festival being called one of the best ever, the final weekend has plenty of events to entertain and delight.
On Friday September 26 at 8.00pm Angelina and JC Grimshaw will be playing Rye Community Centre. These Ise of Wight-based siblings play roots music – blues, folk, swing jazz, vintage Hawaiian and much more. And evening of song and guitars is promised.

And on Saturday September 27 Tilling Green Community Centre hosts a couple of family-friendly and free events! At 1.30pm Bernadette Russell has a storytelling show for kids, parents and grand parents. And before this at 12 noon retired circus director Graham Ellis will present his Juggling Workshop – fun for all as you learn a new a skill.
At 3.00pm on Saturday the life-long political campaigner Peter Tatchell will be talking how he has always fought for his beliefs both at home and abroad, with little concern for his own safety!

At 8.00pm Rye Community Centre will be on its feet, as the audience gets dancing to the ska, rocksteady and reggae rhythms of Intensified – a band which has played with such greats as Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker and Jimmy Cliff!
On Sunday morning September 28 at 11.00am in the Mermaid Inn, Luthier George Stevens will be in conversation about his craft. For 30 years George has made and repaired musical instruments that can be plucked and he will talk about the traditional and modern techniques he uses. A fascinating insight into early music!
