Share the joy and pass on a toy?

This great idea was overheard in a charity shop just recently.

Often parents and children have a clear-out of old toys after Christmas to make way for their new toys and games. A better idea, however, is to sort them out now during the month of November so that families who are not so well off can at least give their children gifts to open on Christmas Day without breaking the bank. Let’s make a space for kindness this festive season and make every donation make a difference.

Clair Debley-Turner, manageress of The Sunflower Charity shop in Rye commented,
“We welcome this idea with open arms as we know so many families are struggling to meet the demands that Christmas puts on them. I would like to remind people that when donating please make sure that toys are not broken, jigsaws have all their pieces and remember that what we judge our toys by is, ‘Would I like to have this in my home and played with by my children?'”

So yes, get donating, but ensure the quality is of a good standard, please. Make some child’s Christmas happier and know that you made a difference. Your pre-loved toys could make another child’s Christmas magical.
