Have you found any archaeological objects over 300 years old and would like them identified or recorded? If so, then the Kent and Sussex Finds Liaison Officers will be at Rye Castle Museum next Wednesday 13 November for their next Finds Day.
They work for the Portable Antiquities Scheme, a national scheme run by the British Museum and National Museum of Wales which encourages the recording of archaeological objects found by the public on their National Database, (https://finds.org.uk/). They also process the Treasure cases for their counties including the recent Late Bronze Age axehead hoard recently acquired by the museum.

The Finds Day at Rye Castle Museum is their first joint county event, and Andrew Richardson (Kent) and Jane Clark (Sussex) are really looking forward to seeing what exciting discoveries the public and local metal detectorists will bring in for them to identify and potentially record with the scheme.
Wednesday 13 May from 10:30am until 4pm at Rye Castle Museum, 3 East Street, just off the High Street.
