Discovery of aspiring young artist

Walking down Lion Street, looking for the little wall library, this reporter discovered a new local young artist, Phoebe Gale, finishing a painting. On asking who she was, Phoebe said:  “I studied interior architecture and just finished with a first class honours degree when lockdown happened. Realizing that finding a job in my field would be very difficult I used my skills to create a print collection. I have done bespoke commissions and originals which have proven quite a hit and my business has grown from there.”

Phoebe has been around this area for some time, studying art in Eastbourne and Canterbury, now living in a property in the alleyway next to the Kino. Her personalized digital animal prints are the perfect birthday or Christmas present and the original prints are available from Ethel Loves Me in the high street, so do have a look.

Although Phoebe started to create these prints for fun, they have actually turned into her full time income at the moment. She also creates pencil and oil painting commissions. She says: “I can design or draw anything you would like in any style. Please follow me on Instagram @printingthedream.”
