Polo’s sentimental journey

Hastings based award winning composer and pianist Polo Piatti is known around the world for his beautiful, tuneful classical music. In 2015, we were in luck when he came to Rye, starting a Schubert-style Evening (where composers and musicians gather socially to play and discuss their new music) in the Vine Hotel in the High Street. Sadly for us the venue became too small and he moved the event to Hastings.

Polo Piatti, an internationally recognized musician, is the founder and artistic director of the “International Composers Festival” in Hastings. He says that it is the only festival of its kind that promotes melodic, classical music, created and performed by living composers.

Polo has just finished his biggest commission to-date: the first ever multi-faith oratorio “Libera Nos”, specially commissioned by the Musica Sacra organization and is now working on his first opera and second piano concerto.

You can experience Polo Piatti’s work on Saturday March 19 at 6pm at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Hastings, when he will be launching his beautiful new album “Sentimental Journey” recorded with the world famous City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

“Sentimental Journey” is an emotional voyage across different countries, diverse cultures and states of the heart. It touches upon Polo Piatti’s personal experiences, his youth in Argentina, travels around the world and the incredible people he met along the way.

He hopes that his audience on that day or people who buy the CD will enjoy the journey with him.
