Lenormand de Paris Exhibition
The Lenormand de Paris Exhibition and Sale
February 7–23, St. Andrews Mews
Experience the original oil paintings created for the Lenormand de Paris cartomancy deck by artist Clarissa Shanahan.
Originally from New York City, spent a couple of years on an extended itinerant artist residency, traveling since January of 2022, creating artwork while traveling. While living ‘slowly but in motion’, as she calls it, she has created various opportunities to engage with local communities and find ways to use art as a means of connection. This has been in search of inspiration and expansion in a post-covid era. During her travels, she created the Lenormand de Paris deck, which was published in March of 2024 by Konigsfurt-Urania. She has now settled in Saint Leonards.
About the deck: The Lenormand de Paris is a unique guide to symbolic divination, blending the timeless 18th-century cartomancy tradition with the iconic imagery of Paris. Rooted in the Lenormand tradition—where symbols convey profound meanings and stories are woven through the cards—this deck beautifully connects past and present, art and divination, through the romantic lens of the City of Light.
Swing by during gallery hours (Thursday to Sunday, 1 PM to 5 0r 7 PM) and don’t miss the opening reception on Saturday, February 8, from 7–9 PM. There will be artwork, Lenormand de Paris decks for sale, and tarot readings to add a little bright spot to a winter night.
Don’t miss this engaging celebration of art, symbolism, and storytelling.
