Pat Argar: Writers of The Marsh Part 3 (’40s & ’50s)
We are delighted that Pat is returning to continue her insightful talks into the writers who lived and wrote in our area. Part 3 will explain how Rye and Romney Marsh continued to lure writers during and after World War Two. Sheila Kaye-Smith was still firmly rooted in the district, Rumer Godden set a work in Rye, Ian Fleming was inspired by the Marsh, and Monica Edwards, Rosemary Sutcliffe and Malcolm Saville featured the area for young adult readers.
