Political & Social Satire by Gilbert & Sullivan!
W S Gilbert wrote the words, Arthur Sullivan the music. While their popularity waxes and wanes with each new generation, their lyrics still ring true: after all, social and political satire were their bread and butter! In the 25 years of working together, they created 14 very successful operettas, although their own relationship was often less harmonious than their musical output.
The presenter is Bernard Lockett, an acclaimed author and broadcaster on all things G&S and also a trustee of the international G&S Festival in Harrogate.
