It’s almost a year since the 2024 Hastings International Piano Competition ended with 19 year-old pianist Curtis Phill Hsu storming to first place, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Now we’re delighted to bring you some exciting news about an event you won’t want to miss: Hastings International Piano’s patron, Sir Stephen Hough, has agreed to support the organisation by giving a one-off recital of romantic piano music in the gorgeous surroundings of Fairlight Hall for just 100 people.
Described by Musical America as “at the top of his game”, Hough is truly “one of the world’s greatest pianists” (Classical Music Magazine). Over the course of a long and distinguished career that has taken him to virtually every major concert hall, he has also excelled as a writer and composer, made more than fifty recordings and this year won the hearts of audiences with his appearance at the Last Night of the Proms.
