Sustainable Living Forum presents “Rye Neighbourhood Plan and Sustainability”
Sustainable Living Forum presents “Rye Neighbourhood Plan and Sustainability” Sunday, 14th May 2023 3-5 pm at the Tilling Green Community Centre in Rye.
Local community champion, Colonel Anthony Kimber, will share what a sustainable community looks like and what 2023 updates will be made to the rye neighbourhood plan.
The Rye Neighbourhood Plan will be reviewed in 2023 to ensure conformity with emerging national and local plans. Three areas are going to be under particular focus: social housing, climate change impacts, and post-CPE traffic measures.
“The presumption in favour of sustainable development is a principle to ensure that neighbourhood plans are drafted in a way which reflects an evidence-based assessment of the social, economic, and environmental factors of a planning area.”
Anthony Kimber, PhD has a long and decorated history of community service on both national and local levels. Besides being the coordinator of the Rye Neighbourhood Plan, he’s also involved with multiple community groups with interests in the environment, conservation, and heritage issues.
Tea, coffee, and snacks provided.
