Sustainable Living Forum: Rising Sea Levels, Global Warming, and Its Effects on our Coastal towns
Chair of United Nations Association Climate and Oceans, Gonzalo Alvarez, will explore the issues of rising sea levels and its effects on our coastal towns from the perspective of climate change, and then suggest areas of resilience and adaptation.
According to the Rye Neighbourhood Plan ‘Sequential and Exception Flood Risk Tests’ report in 2018, there were up to 1,000 dwellings and businesses in Rye’s Flood Zones 2 and 3. Coupled with the reality of global climate change, this puts much of our community at risk for flooding.
