Friday morning is always a good opportunity for a chat at the Rye Community Centre in Conduit Hill while waiting for the weekly Country Market to open – and habits and routines help to keep us going as we get older.
But forgetfulness can also be part of growing older, and the Country Market – which specialises in particular in local produce such as flowers and vegetables – shuts up shop in the wintry months when not much is growing – which I had forgotten about.
This leads to cries of anguish, but it has always returned so far – and March 6 is the return date for 2020.
