Here’s the schedule for the first Rye Pirates and Smugglers Day on Saturday, August 9.
The day starts in the Gun Garden at 10am where a parade around town begins. and includes the official opening at the town hall at 10:25am.
Zoe Britton, one of the organisers, says the day’s free events have been entirely funded by sponsors and donations. “It’s a fun and friendly event that celebrates Rye’s colourful history with a big helping of community spirit and creativity. Dressing up is highly encouraged!”
