Icklesham Casuals defeated Magham Down 3-2 in their Division 4 fixture on Saturday, February 22, in a match that should have been more comfortable than the score line suggests.

The Casuals got off to a good start and were 2-0 up in the opening twenty minutes thanks to strikes from Phil Badrock and Sean Baker. The first half continued with Icklesham having the majority of the attacking play and creating numerous chances but failing to convert any of them.

Magham Down came more into the match at the start of the second half, creating chances of their own and goals from Christopher Johnson and Callum Langford brought them level.

Icklesham then took control of the game once more but again could not take advantage of the opportunities created until the last few minutes when Badrock chipped a ball on the edge of the area and Baker volleyed it first time into the far corner of the net.

Sean Baker was the Helenswood Sports Centre man of the match.

This Saturday the Casuals take on Hooe Sports at the Recreation Ground in the semi-final of the East Sussex League Divisions 4 and 5 Challenge Cup with the match kicking-off at 1:30pm, while the veterans take on Peche Hill Select in the Hastings Veterans League on Sunday with a 10:30am kick-off.
