Covid free cricket

As Covid restrictions have been relaxed, cricket week will be going ahead, commencing on August 2 as planned. On Tuesday, August 3, Rye play the MCC, the game will be starting at 11:30am. There will be a lunch available for those wishing to watch – a two course meal for £15 including a glass of wine. Tickets need to be reserved in advance. On Monday, August 2 there is the President’s XI fixture, at which two former members will be remembered, David Dee and Ian Addy. Former players and current players will play a 25 over per side match followed by a barbecue and many happy memories. Rye will also officially “open” the defibrillator installed in David’s memory.

As part of cricket week, Rye is running a softball camp on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9am-12 noon. The cost is £10 a day or £20 for all three. Then on the Friday evening at 6pm will be the junior softball presentation evening.

There will be a hardball cricket camp on August 17 and 18 from 10am to 3pm. The cost is £40. To join the softball or hardball camp contact Martin Blincow at blincsfamily@aol.com.
