A great morning for a game of football and what a game it was!! Rye Bay under 9s had never played this Robertsbridge team before so a new test for the boys. Bay stepped up to another level with great passing and movement off the ball and loads of talking between the lads.

Robertsbridge also played some really good football and pushed Bay all the way. A great first game in goal for young Alfie! Man of the match Oliver MacDonald was lethal in front of goal.

Overall it was the best team performance of the season so far. Well done boys keep it up, writes Ali Macdonald. In their next match Rye Bay U9s host Westfield U9 on Saturday October 10 at 10:30am.

Man of the match for the under 13s was Bradley Paine. Bradley and Charlie Day scored one each as Rye Bay secured a 2-2 draw in their home match against JC Tackleway U14s, writes Dan Lake.

Next up for the U13s is the U13 Top Flight trophy as they face AS Eastbourne at Harbour Road at 10:30am on Sunday October 11.

[Sports Editor’s note: The FA does not allow us to publish the results of U9 matches. The result has to be guessed from the tone of the report!]
