Playing their first competitive match since February, Icklesham Casuals got the new season off to a winning start last Saturday with a 2-1 victory away to Orington in an East Sussex League Division Four fixture.

The match played on the 3G pitch at Bexhill College saw Icklesham get off to a shaky start and a mix-up at the back saw Orington take the lead inside the opening twenty minutes through Adam How. But this spurred the Casuals on, and they were soon level when Phil Badrock netted the equaliser and took the lead straight from the restart from a lovely overhead kick from Joe Fraser.

A few more chances were created in the second half but despite not being able to find a third goal to make points safe, the side held on for the win.

Sam Norman was named the Icklesham man of the match.

This Saturday the team are at home to West Hill United with a 3pm kick-off.
