Rye’s indoor cricketers remained unbeaten as they faced Parkhurst last Thursday (January 29) in the indoor cricket league held at Horntye park in Hastings. Great team batting performance with James Hamilton, Ben Clifton and Joe Lovell all retiring with Hamilton getting a quick fire 25, Clifton with a quick 26 and Lovell with 29! Good use of back wall hitting with running mixed in from all, then came Bunday (Harry Smeed), Craig Pierce and Cookie (Mark Cook) to support the team and get a few runs themselves.

Then on to the bowling with Lovell as stand-in keeper even taking a stumping off Clifton! Hamilton and Pierce opened the bowling and went through the batting order making good use of the ball, Clifton returning figures of 13-2 and Pierce with 16-2 with the rest of the team contributing good solid figures. Great team performance, although the fielding was we’ll say interesting at times (haha!), including an interesting drop from Cookie, but big thanks to the lads that stepped up and got a dominant win! Let’s keep it going for the next fixture boys.
