After both sides recorded victories the previous Saturday, this weekend was a disappointing one for Icklesham Casuals.

The 1st team took on Punnetts Town at the Recreation Ground with Punnetts Town going into the game with a 100% league record. The side put in a good performance but went down 2-1 and assisted their opponents by netting an own goal. On another day the Casuals may well have won the game. Danny Noakes struck his first goal for Icklesham.

The 2nd team took the lead in the opening exchanges away to a strong Sovereign Saints II side when Ed White’s wonderful shot sailed into the net. They then contained the Saints’ attack for most of the 1st half but conceded a couple of chances to trail 2-1 at the break. The second half was similar to the first with Saints controlling the game and adding a further two goals to leave the final score 4-1.

The two sides that defeated Icklesham this weekend now top their respective divisions.
