Jempson’s Peasmarsh Superstore played host to a number of Bank Holiday Charity Boot Fairs, with this year’s once again proving very popular which in turn helped to raise a significant amount of money for local good causes.

This year’s car boots attracted hundreds of sellers and enthusiastic bargain hunters, with over £1,500 being raised.

All the money from the sales of pitches and collections on the day were donated to Rye and District Community Transport, Day Centre and the hospital at Rye. The event for the town’s Bonfire Society was called off due to adverse weather.

Stephen Jempson said “Our Boot Fairs are a well-established event in the Jempson’s calendar. We take great pleasure in offering our services for the benefit of local good causes and the community over-all, these events are well organised and we hope that they will be even bigger and better when they return. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to welcoming even more traders and bargain hunters to next year’s Bank Holiday events”.
