Prestigious award for Tuscan

Lion Street restaurant Tuscan Rye has successfully passed the evaluation process and has been awarded “Ospitaltà Italiana” 2016, writes Jenny Vinter of Tuscan Rye. We receive our certificate on Friday, October 21 at the award ceremony to be held at Royal Horticultural Halls, London.

Ospitalità Italiana  is a seal of quality for Italian restaurants throughout the world. Franco is a member of the Italian federation of chefs and we are the only restaurant in the south of England to attain this certificate of Quality and Authenticity. We’re delighted to wave the flag for Rye.

The citation reads: “Due to a historical Italian tendency to attend human relationships and the quality of life, the culture of the table has become with the passing of time a symbol of hospitality and welcome, and food has taken on a value similar to art and music. For these reasons the Italian cuisine has to be defended and protected against adulteration and falsification to preserve history, culture and authenticity. Tuscan Rye promotes the traditions of Italian agriculture, food and wine products and guarantees the respect to standard quality of the Italian hospitality.”

  1. Excellent news and well deserved. It comes as no surprise to us as your attention to detail, and the food of course, mean we will keep coming back to experience a little bit of Tuscany in Rye.

  2. Most definitely well deserved. Jen you are an amazing front of house and Franco’s food is beyond exceptional. Congratulations to you both.
