Beckley Eagles welcomed a very good Sedlescombe side to the Maltings, Peasmarsh, with everyone expecting a close encounter, but it couldn’t have been move different. Sedlescombe were “not at the races” and Beckley took full advantage of that with Joe Fraser starting the scoring with a close range shot. This settled the team and it was not long till Lucas Zon ran onto a through ball from Conner Buss to smash a shot in from the angle. Tommy Ackerley was subbed on and quickly linked up with Zon to score his first, calmly shooting into the bottom corner. With the midfield and defence holding firm, Ackerley added two more before half time to make it a great first half hat trick.

With Beckley leading 5-0, the second half started more even until Buss let fly from 35 yards to make it 6-0. Sedlescombe then pulled one back, only for Ackerley to grab his fourth, 7-1 with Josh Green and Sam Garner forcing Sedlescombe keeper into late saves. Manager Rob Sayer said after the match: “It was a great day for me to end my time as manager of Beckley Rangers which I thank them all for”.
