Britain’s bikers didn’t fold up
One leg of a circumnavigation of Britain by bike met with an unexpected obstacle - Southern Railways. But the cyclists did get to meet Rye's Mayor and the Town Cryer outside the Heritage Centre. Paul Simpson reports.

Every dog has his day
The Rye Country Show attracted a vast turn out from the dog community. As well as the Coakham bloodhound pack, individual dogs turned up to compete in various events. The Grand National saw dogs dragging their owners over fences (and the reverse) and the subsequent terrier racing was a chaotic success as competitors tried to invade and escape the arena, while others stayed quietly inside their traps to avoid trouble

Its worth going back to the Rye Society of Arts summer show for a second look as you may uncover all sorts of interesting exhibits that you missed the first time around. We went back and found a multi-talented artist who has worked on a hugely diverse range of projects
