Rye Heritage Centre raised £172.10 during the Rye Maritime Festival for the Demelza Hospice children’s charity as entry to see the Rye Town Model Sound and Light show was free all day and visitors were invited instead to make donations to the charity. Heritage Centre manager Peter Cosstick said: “It was great to see so many local residents and visitors to the town enjoy the show. A big thank you for all your generous donations which will help to add life to days when days cannot be added to life”. The Town Model (above), tracing the town’s long history through sounds and lights, can be seen at the Heritage Centre 10am-5pm every day until 30 September, after which shorter winter opening times apply. Tickets are £3.50 adults, £1.50 children.
