Theft

Sussex Police are investigating after responding to a report of an attempted theft at an address in Peasmarsh on Sunday 9 November.

Two individuals tried to steal a quad bike but fled when disturbed by the owner.
Officers say they are using the incident to remind residents to to secure their property and reduce opportunities for crime. “Use robust padlocks or deadlocks on doors. Fit an alarm system or motion-sensor lighting. Secure expensive items inside using lockable cabinets, ground anchors, or heavy-duty chains. Avoid leaving tools or ladders outside, as they can be used to gain access to your property. Mark valuable items with your postcode using a UV pen or property marking system.”

Parking consultation

East Sussex County Council

East Sussex County Council is asking for views on changes to parking rules in two parts of Rye: a planned extension to the no waiting zone near the Brede sluice on the Harbour Road is proposed, along with changes to the waiting rules at the junction of Cinque Ports Street and Station Approach.

ESCC says the proposals follow requests for changes to existing parking controls or where local residents or businesses want new controls to be introduced.

You can find more about the consultation, which runs until 21 November  here.
