After the previous success of Rye Dance Centre’s show, Super Duper, the dance school moved on to undertake the more competitive aspect of dancing at the local musical festivals of Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. Almost everyone was left in awe at the talent of the pupils.

A variety of different styles and genres were shown, with many of the students being awarded trophies and medals for their outstanding work and effort. The school managed to obtain 20 gold, 24 silver and 22 bronze medals collectively while Taylor Lee went on to win the trophy for most personality, and Emma Ferguson and Maya Bower won the cup for the highest mark in their class.

It wasn’t just the younger pupils who saw great success either, as the adult group won the cabaret class at Hastings Musical Festival with 92 marks. All those who danced in the festivals showed countless promising performances and everyone who competed had a wonderful time.

A big thanks goes out to the work put in by Rye Dance Centre’s principal Joanne Fletcher who choreographed most of the dances along with help from the other teachers at the school, without whom the students would not have seen such great accomplishments. We look forward, as ever, to what is next in store for the school, and wish them the best of luck on whatever they undertake in the future.
