Music festival returns

The magic of the festival

The Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival will take place from June 23 to 26 this year. Whether you are new to the festival or returning after many visits, we look forward to welcoming you to our concerts. As we pass the longest day of the year, we look ahead to magical summer days of music-making – what could be better? With 10 concerts scheduled across four days, and wonderful classical music spanning many centuries of creativity, we hope you will be able to join us.

As always, the Peasmarsh Festival will include a superlative roster of world class artists. Joining violinist Anthony Marwood and cellist Richard Lester will be accordion player James Crabb, who is making a welcome return to the festival; the wonderful violinist Magnus Johnston and the celebrated Heath Quartet also make eagerly anticipated returns. Award-winning Dutch pianist Hannes Minaar joins us for the first time. On Friday evening, our guests will be the brilliant young 12 Ensemble who will take to the stage in St Mary’s Rye, joining Anthony and Richard for our annual orchestral concerto concert.

We are also delighted to be planning concerts in the Norman church in Peasmarsh, and stunning St Thomas’ Winchelsea, with its famous stained glass windows and scintillating acoustics. We have also been offering music workshops in five local schools, building on over 15 years of educational partnerships in this special corner of East Sussex. You will be able to hear the fruits of their labours in our special concerts in Peasmarsh and Winchelsea on Friday, June 24.
