As Rye Creative Centre continues to face the risk of closure, we aim to highlight its value to the community with a special exhibition. Please join us for Print Room, a celebration of the diverse printmaking talent that calls Rye Creative Centre home.
We’ve invited printmakers from across the region to showcase their work in The Old Gym for one weekend only this July. This exhibition will feature a wide array of prints made right here at the centre, showcasing both emerging and established talent. As always, everyone is welcome to come, browse, and purchase.
Private View: Friday 11 July, 5:30 – 8 pm
Exhibition Continues: Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, 10 am – 4 pm
Everyone is welcome!

Exhibitors:
Agata Reid, Alison Stump, Amanda Averillo, Angelika Howard, Annabel Wyllie, Beverley Thornley, Caroline Fraser, Claire Guest, Fi Brown, Helen Rawlinson, Jadesola Kloss, Janet Milner, Jenny Pockley, Joanna Towers, Lenka Medlik, Marigold Plunkett, Neil Eastell, Nick Archer, Nicola Hill, Paula MacArthur, Sarah Seymour, Sarah Taylor, and Steph Rubin.
This exhibition celebrates the Print Room facilities at Rye Creative Centre, bringing together a diverse range of styles, techniques, and artists who use our space. Whether you’re a complete beginner looking to learn through our workshops or an experienced professional renting the room to produce limited editions, the Print Room is open to all.
You’ll see a broad variety of printmaking techniques on display, from monoprinting and photopolymer etching to collagraphy, drypoint, and more. Works by internationally recognised artists will hang alongside prints created by local Rye artists, emphasising not only the importance of our facilities but also our mission to preserve this creative hub for the arts.

Rye Creative Centre studio holders currently have licenses to occupy until the end of December 2025. After that, the future of the centre and the 30 creative businesses that call it home is uncertain. The building is slated for demolition to make way for housing. While proposals for relocating the artist community are under consideration, no solution has been found yet, despite considerable public support, and time is running out.
We hope you’ll join us this July to show your solidarity with the resident creatives and the wider community. If you know of any potential solutions, please reach out to us at newroadartists@gmail.com.
