Rye Art Gallery (RAG) in the High Street is opening with an excellent exhibition by Sally Cole which was planned before the lockdown. It has been a difficult four months, as for many other art venues, but it will be a happy day when the doors open again on July 18. But for now, the gallery will only open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11am until 4pm.

Sally Cole loves working in all weathers to refine her experience of being an artist. For six years she has been returning to two specific locations, the West Coast of New Zealand and Pembrokeshire in Wales. “My response to these landscapes is an emotional one.” The picture in the poster above is called ‘Piha’ which is a seaside village west of Auckland with a famous surfing beach.

Everyone involved in RAG is looking forward to welcoming visitors. The hope is that people will adhere to the distancing rules and use the sanitizer which is available at entering the gallery and again at the desk. For any further information please go to  the website.
