Rye Harvest Hoedown

Saddle up for a night of boot-stomping beats, belly-filling BBQ, and barrels of festival cheer – it’s the Harvest Hoedown!

Taking place in our beautifully dressed marquee as part of the Rye Harvest Wine & Food Festival, this is your chance to round off the day with music, movement, and even more mouthwatering food.

Doors open at 7pm, with a full evening of foot-stomping live music from the incredible Cut A Shine – one of the UK’s best-loved folk dance bands.

Cut A Shine is a collective of musicians, dancers and callers who’ve been spreading their brand of rip-roaring hoedown and barn dance music across the UK for over ten years. The line up includes Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin and Double bass – the classic “Bluegrass” line up. The show is augmented with flat foot dancers, eccentric and energetic callers, and singers, for an all round hoedown experience. The band have played

everywhere from festivals to the Mumford and Sons Album Launch (yes, that album), so whether you’re a seasoned do-si-do-er or a total beginner, everyone’s welcome to join in the fun!

Jamie’s butchers of Winchelsea will be onsite all day slow cooking crispy fall apart spit roast local lamb & venison served straight off the spit in a soft white bap with all the trimmings and a delicious vegan seasonal alternative from Georgie Porgies. Plus, our bar will be pouring a top-notch selection of English wines, local beers, and festival favourites all evening long.

So, pull on your boots, bring your friends, and help us celebrate the Harvest here in the heart of Rye. You won’t want to miss this!
