Spawning in River Brede

This amazing video was taken by a resident near the lock gates by Rye Harbour Road.

Shot from decking at the bottom of the garden there are shoals of mullet swimming up river to spawn.

Apparently sea trout also are out in numbers and leap from the water, but swim so much faster so they are not on the film!

  1. Wonderful news for the River Brede. So good to hear of nature returning to where it was before man destroys our environment totally.

  2. As Editor I should add that the fish are now long gone, so anglers turning up in droves will be wasting their time.
