Lend a hand at Mason’s Field

Last year, community volunteers planted a micro wood on Mason’s Field in Rye to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, enhance the space for visitors and improve biodiversity. The micro wood has flourished, though now requires a little care to keep it thriving.

Residents and local groups are invited once again to support this small but important nature project, through some hand weeding and spreading mulch on Monday 22 June between 10am and 2pm.

No gardening experience is necessary, and you can drop in for as long as you like. The day will, of course, be weather dependent. (Sorry, no refreshments will be provided this time, so please bring your own.)

All volunteers are asked to wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather and the activities, including gloves. Please bring a shovel and hand shears/secateurs if you can. Walk, cycle, use public transport or car share to the site wherever possible.
